Run Like Hell
A band image for a Pink Floyd tribute that rebuilds the picture-within-a-picture of Ummagumma.
The original: Pink Floyd, Ummagumma (1969) →
Brief. Run Like Hell wanted a band image Floyd fans would recognise at a glance: the 1969 Ummagumma cover, where the band repeats inside a picture on the wall, rearranged every time.
Approach. One location, one early morning. A clean plate of the wall, then four set-ups with a different member in front each time, nested inside one another and graded to the warm, aged tone of the original.
Outcome. An image that reads as Floyd before anyone sees the name, with the Wish You Were Here sleeve leaning against the wall as a nod for the fans.
How it was made
The location
A clean plate of the wall, shot before the band stepped in.
Four set-ups
The same scene four times, with a different member in front and a blank frame on the wall.
Nested and graded

From a single raw frame to the finished image: each set-up placed inside the frame of the one before, then graded as one image.
