Portraiture

Portraits that actually look like the person: artists, executives and people with something to say.

Individual, executive and artist portraits · National Portrait Gallery, Dancer (2024-25)

A portrait always holds at least two people: the one you see, and the one you don’t. The sitter isn’t looking at a camera. They’re looking at me. What you see is the relationship between us, and when you stand in front of the portrait, you take my place. The deeper the relationship, the deeper the portrait.
